More than just soccer

"The DNC experience for our son and our entire family was unbelievable. We experienced feelings of nervousness while awaiting the email to see if our son made the final selection for the team, excitement when traveling to Montreal to play against the Eastern team and pride when we won the chance to travel to Brazil to represent our count ry at the Danone Nat ions Cup World Final.

Danone is an amazing company for providing this opportunity to boys and girls around the world. The whole event from start to finish was truly the most memorable experience of our lives.

We shed tears of pride numerous times throughout the experience, especially seeing our team in their Canada jersey's stepping ou t onto the field in Brazil. The kids not only get to play the game they love with and against some of the best players in the world, but they learn about nutrition and healthy eating which is advice they can carry with them their entire lives.

Thanks to Danone we were able to meet people from across Canada and around the world that share our love of soccer. When we ret urned home from Brazil we felt like we were in a period of mourning because something was missing and that was our Danone family. While the players were in the care of the Danone organizers, we were confident that our children were being very well taken care of. The whole experience was amazing and we will remember it for the rest of our lives. Thank you for the memories!"

The Danone Nations Cup is so much more than a sporting event, a dream destination or an iconic stadium. It’s a deeply human experience that transcends barriers of language and culture, and forever changes the lives of those who are lucky enough to partake in it. During those few incredible days, our worldview shifts, kids grow and grown-ups reconnect with the child within them.

To live such an experience at the tender age of 12 and represent your country is an honour and a unique opportunity.

We often hear that the Danone Nations Cup is for the kids, but know that we, the adults who accompany them on this journey, are truly the lucky ones. To see children blossom and thrive throughout this adventure constitutes an immense privilege. Nothing compares to witnessing all the magical moments, the joy in the children’s eyes as their dreams come true, the heart and passion they put into their game. It is one of the most inspiring sights.

I have no doubt that in only a few years, we’ll have to pay to see your kids play!

We thank Danone for gathering the world around a soccer ball since 2000.
